Reinstating Your Driver’s License After an Alcohol or Drug-Related Offense

Getting a DUI, DWI, APC, DUID, or any other alcohol or drug-related offense in Oklahoma can result in the loss of your driver’s license.  Completing the ADSAC process is a key step toward reinstating your driver’s license, but it does not ensure automatic reinstatement.

Legal Requirements

According to Oklahoma Statute 47-6-212.2, you are required to complete an alcohol and drug education classes or a substance abuse treatment program to reinstate your driver’s license. These programs can range from a 10 or 24-hour ADSAC course, Victims Impact Panel, Substance Abuse Therapy Group to an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or residential treatment.

Assessment Process

To determine the appropriate class or program for you, state law requires that you meet with a certified ADSAC Assessor who will use standardized assessment tools approved by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) to evaluate you and make recommendation requirements to complete the ADSAC process.

The IDAP program mandates the installation of an ignition interlock device (IID) in your vehicle for a period of time.
